Description

Digital photograph of Teddi Caputo at the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College.

Panel Text

As a recent Ursinus graduate, Teddi Caputo has a unique understanding of student life on campus, though her life now and the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic has left her feeling somewhat separated here from the campus community in 2021. She began her career at the Berman Museum as a student worker in 2016 and is now coming up on 5 years working for the museum. After graduating she worked on several important exhibitions and helped curate shows, occasionally giving tours of the museum to students. Since the pandemic has required most of the Berman staff to work remotely, she has been focusing on building the Berman’s online and social media presence. Since she no longer works directly for the museum and works as an outside contractor, it can feel alienating occupying a liminal space that no one else does as a former student and not a full employee of the college. This has left a glass barrier between her and the Ursinus community.
