My dear Mr. Davison:

I think the other day you had been given to understand that I would call you up at five o'clock, and fear you thought me casual in not doing so. The fact is, the hour passed and still I was not in a position to give you any further information. I hope this did not inconvenience you, and I apologize for the apparent inconsiderateness.
